How does it work from start to finish?
You answer the questions above, we call back the same day to check the size of the block and the gate access, and we give you a fixed price per cut. If you're happy, we book the first one. After that you're on the run and it just happens.
What's actually included in a cut?
Mowing at the right height for the season, edging along every path, driveway and garden bed, a blow-down of the hard surfaces so nothing's left on your concrete, and the clippings go with us.
Do I need to be home?
No. Most of our jobs happen while people are at work. We just need the gate unlocked or the code, and the dog inside. We text the day before so you know we're coming.
How long does a cut take?
A standard suburban block is usually 30 to 45 minutes. A quarter acre runs closer to an hour. The first cut on an overgrown lawn takes longer because it has to come down in stages.
What happens to the clippings?
They go in the trailer and leave with us. We don't fill your green bin and we don't leave a pile behind the shed.
What if the gate's locked or too narrow?
Tell us on the call and we bring the gear that fits. Plenty of side gates are under 800mm, which rules out the bigger mower, so it's better we know first than turn up and find out.
I've got a dog. Is that a problem?
Not at all, as long as they're inside or in the front while we're in the back. We'll let you know roughly what time we're coming so you can sort it.
What if it rains on the day?
Light rain we still cut. If it's been pouring and the lawn is waterlogged, cutting it wrecks the turf and leaves ruts, so we move you to the next day we're in your area and text you to say so.
Do you do the nature strip?
Yes, it's included. So is the strip behind the fence if you've got one, as long as we can get to it.
Can you whipper-snip around the trees and the clothesline?
That's part of the cut, not an extra. Anything the mower can't reach gets trimmed by hand.
Will you scalp my lawn?
No. Cutting too low is how lawns go brown and weeds get in. We set the height to the grass type and the season — higher through summer to hold moisture, lower through the cooler months.
How often does a Melbourne lawn actually need cutting?
Fortnightly suits most lawns most of the year. Through the spring flush, from about September to December, weekly keeps it looking sharp and stops you needing a heavy cut. Through winter it slows right down and monthly is usually plenty.
Can I skip a cut in winter?
Yes. We move regulars to a longer cycle over the cold months rather than cutting grass that hasn't grown. You don't pay for visits you don't need.
How soon can you get out here?
Usually within a few days. If it's for an inspection or a sale campaign and you've got a date, say so on the call and we'll work around it.
Do you work weekends?
Some Saturdays, yes. Weekday spots are easier to get and they're the ones that hold the same slot long term.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the size of the block, how long it's been, and how much edging there is — which is why we ask rather than quote blind. You get one fixed price per cut before we start, and that's the number you pay. No hourly rate creeping up and no extras added on the day.
Is the first cut more expensive?
If the lawn has properly got away, yes, and we'll tell you that up front with the number. It takes longer, it's harder on the gear and there's a lot more to take away. Every cut after that is the regular price.
Can't I just do it myself?
You can, and plenty of people do. It's about an hour of your Saturday plus fuel, blades and a trip to the tip. If you enjoy it, keep doing it. If it's the job you keep putting off until the neighbours notice, that's what we're for.
What if I'm not happy with the job?
Call us and we come back. If we've missed a strip or left clippings on your path, we fix it and you don't pay extra for that.
Do you do rentals and bill the agent?
Yes. We can deal with the tenant directly for access, invoice the agency rather than the owner, and send photos through as the maintenance record.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. The regular run is a standing arrangement, not a contract. Tell us to stop and we stop — no notice period, no cancellation fee.
You're a new business — why you?
Fair question. The name is new, the mowing isn't — this is the same work I did as LN+ Landscaping around , under my own name now. What you're getting is someone who turns up on the day he said, and who'd rather keep one street's worth of regulars happy than chase every job going.
My last mower just stopped turning up. Why would this be different?
Because you get a text the day before every visit, and a phone call if something changes. If we're running late you'll hear it from us rather than wonder.

Lee's Mowing is a new name. The work behind it isn't. I ran LN+ Landscaping around doing this same job — mowing, edges, clean-ups — and this is that work under my own name, narrowed down to the part I'm best at.
Small on purpose. I'd rather have a few streets of regulars who know which day I'm coming than a diary full of one-offs I'm always running late to. If you're on the run, you get the same slot every fortnight and you'll know the day before.
A cut lawn and a finished lawn are two different things, and the ten minutes between them is the whole job.
That ten minutes is the edges, the nature strip, the bit behind the shed, and the blow-down afterwards so your paths aren't left green. It's the part that gets skipped, and it's the part you actually notice from the kitchen window.
